Data API connection
AI SEO for Webflow, written back through the Site API
Webflow’s Data API lets SearchLift write page SEO and publish CMS items directly, and every page is audited for Google and for AI assistants. One thing to know before you connect: Webflow stages SEO changes, so applying a fix also publishes the site.
What it does on Webflow
- Audits the published pages from the live site
- Writes page titles and meta descriptions through the Data API, then publishes
- Creates and publishes articles as CMS items
- Reads your CMS collections so article drafts use your own facts
- Tracks buyer questions across all five assistants
- Connects Google Search Console for query and index data
How it connects
Sign in with Webflow and choose the site, or paste a Site API token generated in the site’s Apps and integrations settings with Sites read, Pages read and write, and CMS read and write.
What stays manual
Structured data. Webflow has no per-page head injection through the API, so JSON-LD arrives as a paste-ready suggestion. The tracking snippet is added once in site settings.
Questions
Webflow specifics.
Everything else, including ChatGPT SEO and AI visibility tracking, is the same on every connector.
Why does applying a fix publish my site?
Webflow only shows visitors the last published version, so a changed title that is never published is invisible. SearchLift publishes after each write, and anything else you have staged goes live with it. Finish or discard unpublished work before turning on auto-heal.
Can it write JSON-LD?
Not through the API, because Webflow does not offer a per-page head slot there. Each block is generated for you to paste into the page settings.
What does the token need?
Site API tokens need a paid site plan. SearchLift needs Sites: read, Pages: read and write, and CMS: read and write. Without Pages: write it can see your SEO settings but not change them.
